Since 1996, Maia (she/her) has been a devotee of Raqs Sharqi (bellydance). She began to perform in 1998 and to teach in 2000.

She currently teaches Raqs Sharqi in West Linn, Oregon. Her emphasis is on Vintage Egyptian styling but the technique is applicable to any style of bellydance.
